Things I Wish I Had Heard During Marriage Prep, Especially About NFP

July 29, 2021 Daniel Dodge

During our marriage preparation, we were taught a very narrow perspective by a lay couple on the use of Natural Family Planning. The NFP world seems to be an echo chamber of the same concepts; that it works to avoid pregnancy, that discernment of its use is private, that “grave” and "serious” reasons can be very individual, and that it’s nearly impossible to utilize it with a contraceptive mentality. For years these perspectives were the only ones I ever heard or read, and I think that’s true for most Catholic couples.

Below is a step out of the echo chamber.

These audios are ones I wish I had heard during marriage prep, so I share them for all the engaged, newly married, and seasoned couples in hopes that they help you wade through the echo chamber of relativism and mistreatment of the modern consensus of NFP.
